4 ways the GOP is attacking abortion rights

June 24, 2024

Two years ago today, Supreme Court justices appointed by Donald Trump overturned Roe v. Wade, which had been the law of the land and ensured abortion access for 50 years. In doing so, the Supreme Court stripped away a fundamental right of every American, and Republicans have plans to further erode reproductive freedom in the future.

Take action with JDCA, engaging Jewish voters in battleground states and districts to help deliver victory for Democrats to defend reproductive rights.

Attacks on our bodily autonomy did not end with the Dobbs decision. Here are four ways Republicans continue to attack our reproductive freedom and rights:

  • Project 2025, Trump’s extreme roadmap for his second term, includes a national abortion ban.
  • Donald Trump said he would allow states to monitor women’s pregnancies and prosecute them for having abortions.
  • Two weeks ago, Senate Republicans blocked legislation guaranteeing access to IVF.
  • Trump said he’s ‘looking at’ policies that wouldrestrict Americans’ access to birth control.

In his first term, Donald Trump appointed three conservative justices to the Supreme Court. In a second term, he’ll have the chance to appoint two or more additional Supreme Court justices to serve a lifetime appointment, shifting the balance of the Court for decades.

The only way to stop right-wing attacks on our reproductive freedom is to elect Democrats.

Since the Dobbs decision, reproductive freedom has been protected at the ballot box by voters in red, blue, and purple states, including Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Montana, California, Vermont, Wisconsin, and Ohio. In 2024, its in the ballot in states including: Florida, Arizona, and Nevada, but it’s actually on the ballot everywhere. It’s up to us to ensure we elect President Biden and Democrats who will protect our reproductive freedoms.

So let’s step up and reach the Jewish voters who will decide the outcome of the November elections. Sign up for a phone bank today.
