4 Indictments Later…

August 18, 2023

This week, Donald Trump and 18 co-conspirators were indicted in Georgia for orchestrating a “criminal enterprise” to reverse the results of the 2020 election in Georgia. This brings the total charges pending against the leading GOP candidate for president to 91 in four states.

Jewish Americans have known Donald Trump is a fraud since the day he entered politics.

Trump’s indictments in New York, Florida, DC, and Georgia have not made a dent in his GOP support, and he remains the front-runner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination by a wide margin. Republicans in Congress refuse to declare that they will no longer support Trump. Their silence is complicity in his extremism and corruption.

But Democrats will not remain silent about the threats to our democracy posed by today’s Republican Party, led by Donald Trump. We know what is at stake and we will do all we can to ensure that democracy is protected in the 2024 election cycle. Defending democracy remains a key issue for voters across America, especially Jewish votersA poll by the Jewish Electorate Institute conducted in June 2023 found that defending democracy remains the top issue for Jewish voters in elections.

JDCA will work to ensure that Jewish voters turn out overwhelmingly for Democrats and against Donald Trump.

JDCA WELCOMES NEW NLC MEMBERS

As Trump and the Republican Party threaten our democracy, more and more Jewish American leaders are joining JDCA’s fight for our future.

This week, we welcomed 12 rising Jewish leaders to the JDCA’s New Leadership Council (NLC). The NLC helps foster organizational growth and advancement by cultivating the energy, enthusiasm, talent, and ideas of our engaged network of lay leaders. The NLC includes teachers, corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, foreign policy experts, former political candidates, and justice and human rights advocates – who offer critical perspectives and new ideas to JDCA.

NLC Chair Lauren Baer said:

“These individuals have already excelled in fields ranging from law, to advocacy, to political strategy and are now committed to bringing their talents to our work to elect Democrats up and down the ballot who share our values.”
