Since its founding in 2017, JDCA has established itself as the home and voice of Jewish voters in support of Democrats who share our core values. Speakers
House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-08)
Hakeem Jeffries is the Democratic House Leader, having been unanimously elected to that position by his colleagues in November 2022. In that capacity, he is the highest-ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives. He is also the former Chair of the Democratic Caucus, Whip of the Congressional Black Caucus and previously co-chaired the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee where he helped develop the For The People agenda.In Congress, Leader Jeffries is a tireless advocate for social and economic justice and is a consistent ally for the Jewish American community and our values.
Senator Chris Coons (DE)
Chris Coons has represented Delaware in the Senate since his election in 2010. Throughout his time in Congress, he has established himself as a leader in the Democratic Party and as a model of bipartisanship and thought-leader in the Senate. He is a leader on the Senate Foreign Relations and Judiciary Committees, and has proven himself an effective legislator. On healthcare policy, Coons supports expanding and improving on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and wants to protect those individuals with preexisting conditions from being denied coverage. Senator Coons is a friend of the Jewish community and Israel, standing strongly in opposition to BDS and in support of a two-state solution, as well being a strong voice against anti-Semitism.
Senator John Fetterman (PA)
A Pennsylvania native, John grew up in York and attended Albright College, where he played college football. John has dedicated his life to fighting for Pennsylvania’s forgotten communities that have been left behind. In 2005, while John was teaching GED classes, he was encouraged by his students to run for mayor of Braddock. In his 13 years as mayor, John worked to rebuild his community, creating jobs, stopping gun violence, getting youth engaged, and bringing creative urban policy solutions to Braddock. In 2018, John was elected as Pennsylvania’s Lt. Governor, and transformed the position into a bully pulpit, advocating for marijuana legalization, economic justice, equal protection for the LGBTQ+ community, and criminal justice reform. John was elected the junior Senator from Pennsylvania in November 2022 and was sworn-in on January 3rd, 2023.
Senator Jacky Rosen (NV)
Senator Jacky Rosen was first elected to the Senate in 2018, defeating an incumbent Republican. Prior to her election, Rosen served for two years in the U.S. House. Rosen supports an assault weapons ban and a $15 minimum wage, and is an avid defender of abortion rights. She is Jewish, a strong advocate for the Jewish American community, and has led numerous pieces of legislation to combat antisemitism and support Israel.
Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX-30)
Representative Jasmine Crockett was first elected to Congress in 2022. Prior, she served in the Texas House of Representatives and worked as a Civil Rights and Criminal Defense Attorney. She was a founding member of the Texas Progressive Caucus and served as the Treasurer of the Texas Caucus on Climate, Energy, and the Environment. She gained national attention as a lead architect of the Texas democrat’s quorum break which temporarily blocked far-right bills regarding voting rights, transgender student-athletes, abortion, and critical race theory. Following this, she traveled to DC to lobby members of Congress to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the For the People Act. In Congress, she has continued to fight for our values.
Congressman Ro Khanna (CA-17)
Representative Ro Khanna is a leading progressive voice in the House working to restore American manufacturing and technology leadership, improve the lives of working people, and advance U.S. leadership on climate, human rights, and diplomacy around the world. Representative Khanna represents California's 17th Congressional District, located in the heart of Silicon Valley, and is serving his fourth term. He serves on the House Armed Services Committee as ranking member of the Subcommittee on Cyber, Innovative Technologies and Information Systems (CITI), co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on India and Indian Americans, a member of the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party, and on the Oversight and Accountability committee, where he previously chaired the Environmental Subcommittee.
Congresswoman Kathy Manning (NC-06)
A strong friend of JDCA, Representative Kathy Manning was first elected to Congress in 2020. Throughout her time in Congress, she has been a strong advocate for childhood education and investments in school infrastructure, democracy and maintaining strong relationships with United States’ allies, and has served as the Co-Chair of the House Bipartisan Taskforce for Combatting Antisemitism. Prior, she worked as a lawyer, small business owner, and a leader in the Jewish community, leading major Jewish philanthropic organizations like JFNA and Prizmah. She’s proven through her work in Congress and on countless boards and organizations that she is committed to serving the people of her district and the American Jewish community.
Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin (MI-07)
Rep. Elissa Slotkin was first elected to Congress in 2018, flipping a district that had been represented by Republicans since 2001. Now, she is running for the open Michigan Senate seat to replace the retiring Senator Debbie Stabenow, who has endorsed Rep. Slotkin. Prior to her election to Congress, Slotkin served in various capacities in the CIA, the National Security Council, the Department of State, and the Department of Defense. With her national security background, she has been a strong pro-Israel advocate in the House. JDCA endorsed Rep. Slotkin in 2018, 2020, and 2022, and she has been a great friend to our organization, having joined us for multiple events.
Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-25)
Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz was first elected in 2005 and is Florida’s first Jewish Congresswoman. Prior, she served as the youngest woman elected to the Florida State legislature and advocated for issues such as economic equity and reproductive freedom. In Congress, she has prioritized expanding health care, improving quality of life for children and families, protecting reproductive rights, and safeguarding the social safety net. Rep. Wasserman Schultz serves on the Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Antisemitism, spearheaded the creation of Jewish American Heritage Month, and has proudly represented the Jewish community in Congress. Rep. Wasserman Schultz has joined JDCA for numerous events throughout the years.
Liz Schrayer, Foreign Policy Expert
Liz Schrayer serves as President & CEO of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC), a broad based coalition of over 500 businesses and NGOs that advocates for strong U.S. global leadership through development and diplomacy. Under her leadership, the USGLC has grown to a nationwide network of advocates in all 50 states and boasts a bipartisan Advisory Council which includes virtually every living former Secretary of State, and a National Security Advisory Council consisting of nearly 200 retired three and four-star generals and admirals. Ms. Schrayer currently serves on the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation’s Development Advisory Council, USAID’s Advisory Committee on Voluntary Foreign Aid (ACFVA), as well as several advisory boards and committees for the University of Michigan, including the Ford School of Public Policy. She is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. In addition to running the USGLC, Ms. Schrayer serves as President of Schrayer & Associates, Inc., a nationwide consulting firm founded in 1995, which works on a wide range of domestic and international issues. Prior to starting her own firm, Ms. Schrayer served as the national Political Director of AIPAC (American Israel Public Affairs Committee) for more than a decade. She worked on Capitol Hill, founding the Congressional Human Rights Caucus and in state government.
Santiago Mayer, Executive Director of Voters Of Tomorrow
Santiago Mayer is a political strategist and the Executive Director of Voters Of Tomorrow–a youth voting organization started by Santiago in December 2019. Originally from Mexico City, Santiago moved to Los Angeles, California, in 2017 and quickly got involved in American politics. He gained experience as an on-the-ground organizer for city council and state senate campaigns and serving as a student leader for the Biden/Harris, helping mobilize college students across the country. Santiago also co-founded the Prom At The Polls campaign, a non-partisan initiative meant to energize first-time voters who lost their senior prom due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In digital circles, Santiago is an influential political commentator, having garnered over 180,000 followers on Twitter and hundreds of millions of views across multiple platforms. Santiago recently graduated with a degree in Political Science and Global Politics from California State University, Long Beach.
Adam Frisch, Candidate for Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District
As a businessman and a former city councilman, Adam Frisch has worked to improve housing opportunities, increase childcare subsidies, and secure long-term water rights for his community. He is currently a candidate for Colorado’s 3rd Congressional District. His priorities in this race include promoting local energy production, protecting Colorado’s natural resources, expanding access to health care and defending reproductive freedom, and creating jobs. Frisch continues to emphasize economic issues like fighting inflation and creating jobs. In 2022, Frisch received JDCA’s endorsement and came within 550 votes of unseating Lauren Boebert. JDCA endorses Adam Frish for his 2024 race.
Officer Missy Cotter Smasal, Candidate for Virginia’s 2nd Congressional District
Missy Cotter Smasal is a Navy veteran and former small business owner. She now runs a nonprofit organization that honors service women and serves as the Virginia Citizen representative on the Chesapeake Bay Commission, a bipartisan commission focused on Bay restoration. As an active volunteer in the Virginia Beach community, she has led a successful charge for safer public schools, producing a plan to implement technology that advances school safety. She also advocated for the city’s ERA resolution and organized Clean the Bay Day events. Her priorities include supporting military families and veterans, protecting the right to choose, and revitalizing the economy.
Eve Levenson, Biden-Harris Youth Engagement Director
Eve Levenson started her advocacy in Los Angeles through her Jewish community at a young age, working on issues of equity within her school, homelessness in the city, and the global issue of genocide and mass-atrocities prevention, with organizations such as Jewish World Watch and the Jewish Center For Justice. She first got involved in electoral politics during the 2018 cycle and simultaneously started organizing in the gun violence prevention space. Upon moving to DC in 2018 she founded the DC chapter of March For Our Lives (MFOL) and joined their staff in January 2019 as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Director. Subsequently, she spent two years leading MFOL's policy and advocacy work as their Federal Affairs and then Policy & Government Affairs Manager, where she trained hundreds of advocates on how to lobby for life-saving legislation and led over a dozen lobby days in person and virtually. During the 2020 cycle, she worked with the Biden-Harris campaign's coalition department on youth and progressive engagement, helping to coordinate an operation that made 5 million calls into swing states. She then worked with then Speaker Nancy Pelosi's political team for two years on group engagement, social media, and digital organizing. Eve joined JDCA in 2022 as a member of the New Leaders Council and worked on staff in 2023 as JDCA's first Director of Outreach, Partnerships, and Youth Voter Engagement. She now serves as National Youth Engagement Director for the Biden-Harris campaign. Eve graduated in 2022 from George Washington University with a B.A. in Political Science and minors in Peace Studies and Women/Gender/Sexuality Studies. She is continuing her studies at GW’s Trachtenberg working towards a Master's in Public Administration (M.P.A.).
Morgan Mohr, Senior Advisor for Reproductive Rights, Biden-Harris Campaign
Morgan Mohr is the Senior Advisor for Reproductive Rights on the Biden Harris Campaign. Prior to this role, she has served in numerous high-level government and campaign positions, including ​​as Senior Advisor to the White House Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, as Associate Director for Strategic Planning for the White House Office of Political Strategy and Outreach, on the Biden-Harris Transition Team, as Nevada Deputy State Director for the Biden-Harris presidential campaign, and as Chief of Staff on Pete Buttigieg’s primary campaign. Mohr holds two master’s degrees from the University of Oxford, where she was a Rhodes Scholar specializing in gender policy and reproductive rights.
