🚨 NEW POLL OF JEWISH VOTERS 🚨

April 13, 2022

This morning, the Jewish Electorate Institute (JEI) released a new poll of Jewish American voters. The survey demonstrates that Jewish voters continue to support Democrats and President Biden, and strongly oppose Republicans and Donald Trump. It also demonstrates that Jewish voters are deeply concerned about attacks on our democracy, oppose Republican-led voter suppression laws, and hold Trump and the GOP responsible for the January 6 insurrection.

The new poll also demonstrates that Jewish voters overwhelmingly support Democrats and align with the values of the Democratic Party. When asked their priority issues for President Biden and Congress, Jewish voters prioritize climate change, voting rights, jobs, and the economy. The vast majority of Jewish voters support abortion access, eliminating the filibuster, and approve of President Biden’s job performance.

It remains clear that the Democratic Party is the political home of Jewish voters.

The Democratic Party continues to be the political home of Jewish American voters because the Democratic Party’s policies and values reflect those of Jewish Americans. Jewish voters not only continue to strongly identify with the Democratic Party but are also driven by their intense and growing opposition to the Republican Party and its leadership. While some may twist the results of this poll to attack Democrats, the numbers tell a different story:

President Biden’s approval rating (63%) is 21 points higher with Jewish Americans than the American electorate generally (42%), and his approval is 9 points higher among Jewish Americans than President Obama’s was in 2015, when it was 54%.

The GOP’s standing with Jewish voters remains abysmal, with 73% viewing the GOP unfavorably. Donald Trump’s unfavorability rating is even higher, at 77%, and 79% of Jewish voters hold Trump responsible for January 6th. On foreign policy, 72% approve of Biden’s handling of the war in Ukraine, and 68% support the U.S. re-entering the Iran nuclear deal.

While this poll shows continued support for Democrats and intense opposition to the Republican Party, it also emphasizes the important work ahead of us as we approach the 2022 midterm elections. Democrats will win in the midterms if Jewish voters get out the vote consistent with our values.
