JDCA at the DNC
Since its founding in 2017, JDCA has established itself as the home and voice of Jewish voters in support of Democrats who share our core values. Join us and be a part of history at the Democratic National Convention this August in Chicago as we nominate Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee for president.
Speakers
Congresswoman Lois Frankel (FL-22)
Lois Frankel has represented Palm Beach County in Congress since 2013. Prior, she served 14 years in the Florida state legislature, where she became the first woman Democratic Minority Leader, and was Mayor of West Palm Beach. She became a leading force to improve the economic condition of families and seniors, and to protect human rights and women's reproductive freedom - fights she continues today in Congress as Chair of the Democratic Women's Caucus. Rep. Frankel’s priorities also include standing by Israel and combating antisemitism. Since October 7th, she has been a leading voice in calling for the immediate release of hostages, security assistance to Israel, and aid to civilians in Gaza, and condemnation of the use of sexual violence. She was the lead sponsor of H. Res. 966 Condemning rape and sexual violence committed by Hamas in its war against Israel.
Wesley Bell (MO-01)
Wesley Bell currently serves as St. Louis County Prosecutor, where he has led a variety of initiatives focused on making law enforcement more effective and accountable. He established a violent crimes unit that focused on domestic violence and invested in programs to support offenders who struggled with substance abuse disorder and mental health issues, an initiative with a nearly 90% success rate. His record includes diverting 2,200 low-level, nonviolent defendants to job training and health care programs and ending death penalty prosecutions in the county. Bell also advocates for strengthening the economy through job and skills training, reinvesting in rural communities, expanding access to health insurance, lowering prescription drug costs, defending reproductive rights, fighting climate change, raising the federal minimum wage, and believes a strong middle class comes from strong unions. Bell also supports a two-state solution and opposes conditioning aid to Israel.
George Latimer (NY-16)
George Latimer is currently a County Executive of Westchester County and has previously served as Rye City Council and a member of the New York State Senate. As the first Democratic Chair of the County Legislature, Latimer cut property taxes for three consecutive years while passing ground-breaking legislation. He has created Westchester’s Human Rights Commission, and championed Democratic policy issues such as environmental protections, marriage equality, the right to choose, and gun control. He cosponsored the New York Health Act to expand health care coverage. As County Executive, he supported social justice reforms on policing and wage policy and advocated for black maternal health care and investments in affordable housing and transit. Shortly before announcing his candidacy for Congress in 2024, Latimer toured Israel, visited a kibbutz targeted on October 7, and met with President Herzog.
