Shana Tova from Jewish Dems

September 19, 2025

As we prepare to gather with loved ones and welcome in the New Year for Rosh Hashanah, we enter a season of reflection, renewal, and hope. The Jewish New Year calls on us not only to reflect on our own lives but also to consider how we can shape a better future for our families, our community, and our world. Just as the blast of the shofar awakens us to new possibilities, it also demands that we do not remain silent in the face of injustice.

As Jewish Americans, our values compel us to act. We are taught to pursue justice, to protect the vulnerable, and to safeguard democracy. At this time, this work has never been more important, as so much of what we care about is at risk.

Despite the challenges, we know that despair is not a strategy, and we’re taking action. Jewish voters can change the trajectory of the country, and that’s the focus of our efforts at JDCA. We have a proven strategy of mobilizing the Jewish vote in the races where it makes a difference in electing Democrats who share our values. We recognize that we cannot win elections or create meaningful change without engaging younger voters, and this remains a key part of our work, in addition to advocating for issues of importance to all Jewish Americans.

In 2025 and 2026, we are mobilizing and organizing an army of volunteers to engage with voters through phone banks, canvassing, and events across the country.

We often hear that ‘democracy is not a spectator sport.’ That is more true than ever, and the outcome of the 2026 elections will depend on all of us doing all we can to win. JDCA is here as your political home to facilitate your political involvement and activism in the midterm elections, and we hope you’ll continue to join us.

Of course, this work cannot be done alone. It requires all of us, acting together. Rosh Hashanah is a moment to rededicate ourselves to our families, to our communities, and to our collective responsibility. For JDCA, that means building the strongest possible movement of Jewish Democrats prepared to meet this moment and take back control of Congress in 2026.

We need you with us to achieve this goal. If you are already a member of JDCA, thank you, and please consider deepening your engagement and renewing your commitment. If you are not yet a member in 2025, now is the time to join JDCA. Membership is more than a statement of values – it is a declaration of action and gives you access to more opportunities to fight back.

As we reflect on the challenges of the past year, let us also look forward with determination to the year ahead of us. We can – and must – create a better future. We do that by ensuring the strength of our democracy, by holding fast to our Jewish values, and by securing Democratic wins where they matter most. That is the work of JDCA.

May this Rosh Hashanah bring you sweetness, joy, and renewal. And may it also strengthen our shared resolve to act boldly, together, in defense of our democracy and our future.
