Jewish Dems Respond to Democratic Primaries

WASHINGTON – In response to yesterday’s Democratic primaries, during which at least 14 JDCA-endorsed candidates won their races, Halie Soifer, CEO of the Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA), released the following statement:

“JDCA is proud of its efforts in support of Democrats who share our values, some of whom are positioned to flip House and Senate seats from red to blue. Mainstream Democrats, including many of the candidates JDCA has endorsed, remain the key to winning back control of Congress.

“JDCA congratulates Rep. Wesley Bell on his resounding 22-point victory in Missouri in a rematch against his DSA challenger Cori Bush. In Michigan, Jeremy Moss overwhelmingly defeated challengers on the far-left, and JDCA endorsees Reps. Hillary Scholten and Kristen McDonald Rivet both advanced to the general election. We are also proud of Jocelyn Benson, and look forward to working to ensure she’s elected the next Governor of Michigan.

“While we are disappointed in the final result of the Michigan Senate race, the razor-thin margin isn’t the resounding win for the far-left that was predicted. We are proud of the race run by Rep. Haley Stevens, and we thank her for her consistent and principled leadership standing with Jewish Americans. We congratulate Dr. Abdul El-Sayed on his victory after a difficult and divisive primary.

“JDCA volunteers from across the country made over 100,000 calls into Michigan and Missouri mobilizing voters for Haley Stevens and Wesley Bell, creating a growing nationwide network of Jewish activists who made their voices heard.
