Jewish Democrats remain stalwart supporters of Israel
Ron Klein
Those who see bashing Israel or undermining our alliance as a prerequisite to good progressive credentials are wrong. Those on the hard Left who attack Israel are not representative of the Democratic Party. True progressive Democrats support the State of Israel because support for Israel aligns with our other progressive values. Neither the US nor Israel is perfect, but in an imperfect world, both Israel and the United States are still shining lights among the nations.

Anti-boycott act keeps foreign policy where it belongs
Ron Klein
But, as the campaign to single out Israel — a democratic state that shares our American values continues — as the sole reason that Palestinians do not have a homeland, Congress is right to ensure that individuals and corporation do not adhere to boycotts that are contrary to U.S. foreign policy. Israel and the Palestinians will achieve peace only through dialogue and reconciliation, not by demonizing and delegitimizing the democratic state of Israel.

Continue to strengthen U.S.-Israel alliance
Ron Klein
Those of us who support Israel have varying opinions on the impact of continued development and expansion of settlements, but the UN, with its history of double standards toward Israel, is not the proper venue for such a discussion. The world body repeatedly has put forward one-sided, unfair and discriminatory resolutions against Israel, and this measure was no different. The UN once again ignored the major international trouble spots, choosing instead to focus disproportionately and unfairly on the world’s only Jewish state.
