JDCA Weekly Wrap Up – L’Shanah Tovah!

September 11, 2018

Friends,

The Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) wishes you a happy, healthy, and sweet New Year. JDCA is proud of what it has accomplished in our first year thanks to the support of our growing network of more than 16,000 Jewish Dems. We have endorsed 25 candidates, spoken out against Trump’s domestic and foreign policy agenda, and taken action in Congress to further our values. We have established ourselves as the voice of progressive, pro-Israel Jewish Democrats, and look forward to supporting more candidates and building even greater momentum as we approach November. Please consider officially joining our growing movement online today and offering your support as we work to flip red seats to blue in the midterms. We have a lot of work to do together in the New Year, and JDCA will continue to lead with our values. Join us today and read on to learn more…

Jewish Dems wish you a new year of peace and health.

Rosh HaShanah begins on Sunday evening. As we embark upon a new year, JDCA recognizes that the past year has been a difficult one for so many of us, and our country as a whole. The Trump administration’s policies have led to growing income inequality, less access to affordable healthcare, forced family separations, closing our borders to those seeking refuge, and so many other policies that are contrary to the stability of our country and our values.

In 5779, JDCA is leading the way to political change.

We are committed to fighting for policies that reflect the principles of “love thy neighbor as thyself” and Tikkun Olam. We will continue to advocate for the right of families to stay together. We will oppose any Supreme Court nominee who threatens reproductive rights, freedom of speech, separation of religion and state, racial and social justice, and the right to have every vote count. We will support candidates who share our values and will flip the House to Democratic control in November. And we will advocate for a strong and smart national security policy, which includes bipartisan support for Israel. This Rosh HaShanah, let us renew our commitment to peace, justice, equality, and security for all. May everyone be inscribed in the Book of Life, and may you and your families have a happy, healthy, and sweet new year.

JDCA is getting a new look in the new year.

Immediately after the holiday, please check out our newly-designed website (at the same address – JewishDems.org) where you will be able to more easily navigate “take action” items, briefings, and ways to get involved. We are thrilled to share this exciting news with you, and look forward to ringing in 5779 in style.

Shabbat Shalom and L’Shanah Tovah,
Ron Klein
Chair, Jewish Democratic Council of America
