Given the COVID-19 pandemic, JDCA is providing opportunities for our supporters across the country to engage with Democratic leaders and experts, looking at different aspects of this crisis and steps we can take to make a difference.

July 14, 2020: Jewish Dems host a conversation about how we move forward in the future of COVID with one of the leading experts and authors of the pandemic playbook that Trump threw out, Jeremy Konyndyk, as well as Vice President of the National Women’s Law Center, Melissa Boteach.



June 30, 2020:
Jewish Dems host a discussion on what Israel’s unilateral annexation of parts of the West Bank would be for Israel and the US-Israel relationship. JDCA hosts former US Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, and Congressman Brad Schneider. 


 

June 16, 2020: Jewish Dems host Congresswoman Karen Bass to discuss the Justice in Policing Act, which is is sponsoring, and how we can turn out words of support into action.


 

June 9, 2020: Jewish Dems are joined by Tema Smith, Marra B. Gad, and Rabbi Michael Latz for a discussion on why racial justice is a Jewish issue.



June 4, 2020:
Jewish Dems welcome Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, to discuss how Democrats are fighting for the American people as crises emerge across the country.


 

June 2, 2020: JDCA is joined by Integrity First for America, the organization suing the neo-Nazis and organized the Unite to Right rally in Charlottesville.


May 26, 2020: Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) joins Jewish Dems to discuss her work and leadership in the Senate combating anti-Semitism.


 

May 19, 2020: JDCA hosts friend of the organization, Senator Cory Booker (NJ) for our latest call. Senator Booker discusses how we can give voice to our values, what’s going on in the Senate, and shares his knowledge of Torah and Jewish tradition.


May 2, 2020: JDCA has long warned of the dangers of President Trump’s erratic foreign policy. In a time of global crisis, the need from smart, effective foreign policy is more important than ever. JDCA hosts Senator Ben Cardin (MD) and HIAS CEO Mark Hetfield to discuss U.S. Global Leadership, Refugees and Immigration amid COVID-19.



April 28, 2020:
After endorsing Joe Biden for President, the Jewish Democratic Council of America (JDCA) hosts Biden campaign surrogates Senator Chris Coons (DE) and Tony Blinken, Joe Biden’s Chief Foreign Policy Advisor, discuss the importance of electing Joe Biden president.



April 21, 2020:
JDCA is joined by Congresswoman Haley Steven (MI-11) to discuss the congressional response to COVID-19, what actions are still coming, and what she is doing to fight for the people of Michigan.


 

April 14, 2020: We’re joined by Jeremy Konyndyk, who, in the Obama administration, helped to write the “pandemic playbook” that Trump ignored. Jeremy discusses his expertises in disaster preparedness and response, and how Donald Trump has failed to protect Americans.



April 7, 2020: 
As we prepare to celebrate Passover, we’re joined by JDCA NextGen Members, Rabbi Michael Latz and Rabbi Joel Simonds, along with other special guests, discuss celebrating a progressive Passover. Watch for a special musical performance by Elana Arian.



April 2, 2020:
JDCA is joined by Randi Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), who represents over 1.7 million educators and healthcare professionals. The call was also joined by Anne Goldman, who is both an RN in New York and Vice-President of the United Federation of Teachers.



March 31, 2020:
 Join us at 3pm ET as we hear from Rep. Max Rose (NY-11) and former Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Treasury, Hon. Sarah Bloom Raskin, who will both discuss the economic impact of COVID-19, and the congressional response.


 

March 26, 2020: Congresswoman Elissa Slotkin and national security experts Jeremy Bash and Ned Price spoke to JDCA supporters about the need to work with international partners to combat COVID-19, and why American leadership is so important in this time of crisis.



March 24, 2020:
America’s leading voting rights lawyer, Marc Elias, joins JDCA to discuss how COVID-19 impacts the 2020 elections, and why we must fully invest in vote-by-mail.
